Assist provides one to one support to people who are lonely, people who are bereaved and to people who may be suffering from poor physical or mental health.
Assist provides help both to individuals and their carers and where necessary we will help people access other specialist support services. Assist is able to support people who may be struggling with a broader range of life challenges and we can help people to rebuild their confidence by providing a ‘listening ear’ , by getting alongside them or by helping them take small practical steps to improve their self-esteem.
Assist’s services are free and are available to people who live in Cherry Willingham, Reepham and Fiskerton and surrounding villages, but we also provide help to people who live in the northern parts of the City as well.
The Assist telephone line is normally open weekday mornings and anyone can make a referral to Assist. However, please note it is not an emergency service.
Assist is staffed by a local coordinator and volunteers who are formally trained and approved. Assist is a Christian organisation but it offers help to adults of any age, gender, faith or background.
Assist was formed in October 2013 and has helped over 160 people in its first 2 years.
Assist is supported by six local churches and is administered by the trustees of The Vine Community Church – which is a registered charity. It is a member of Lincolnshire’s Managed Care Network of mental health providers
